He graduated from the Faculty of Statistics, Universitas Padjajaran. He proceeded to receive his Master of Business Administration from Institut Pendidikan dan Pembinaan Manajemen in 1988.

He previously served as Director of Operations at PT Telekomindo Primabhakti (1997-2006), Director of PT Excelcomindo Pratama Tbk. (2006-2010), Vice President Director of PT PLN (Persero) and Vice President Director of PT Semen Gresik Tbk, (2011-2012) and Minister of Communications and Informatics of the Republic of Indonesia (2014-2019).

He received his Bachelor of Computer Engineering from the University of Southern California, United States, in 1990. He also received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Pepperdine University, United States, in 1993. 

He participated in a number of executive education programs in the past, including Executive Education in Global Leadership and Public Policy for the 21st Century at Harvard Kennedy School (2012), Insights Into Politics and Public Policy in Asia for global leaders at Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (2012), Executive Education on Impacting Investing at Said Business School, University of Oxford (2013), and Executive Education in Leadership and Decision Making in the 21st Century at Jackson Institute for Global Affairs, Yale University (2014).

He concurrently serves as President Commissioner of PT Asuransi Cakrawala Proteksi (2013-now); Member of Nomination, Remuneration, and GCG Committee of the Company (2015-now); President Director and Group CEO of PT Indika Energy Tbk (2016-now); and Commissioner of PT Kideco Jaya Agung (2017-now).

He previously served as Commissioner of PT Smart Tbk (2004-2014), Commissioner of PT Indosat Tbk (2008-2014) and Minister of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia (2014-2015). He has been appointed as the Company’s Independent Commissioner based on Deed of the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders No. 9 dated May 18, 2016. 

He concurrently serves as a Member of the Board of Directors and Board of Commissioners of the business group of PT Gobel Panasonic (1994-now).

He received his Bachelor of Economics majoring in Accounting from Padjadjaran University, Bandung in 1990.

He is a seasoned professional with a strong educational background in accounting and finance. With extensive experience in diverse industries, He has held the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in several prominent companies. His expertise lies in financial management, strategic planning, risk and investment, and corporate governance.

Prior his appointment as Independent Commisioner of PT Rukun Raharja Tbk., he was a Group CEO  Mining Industry Indonesia (MIND ID) (2019 – 2021 ), EVP and Deputy CEO of PT Freeport Indonesia   (2018 –2019), Chief Financial Officer of PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminium (Persero) (2018), Chief Financial Officer of PT Bukit Asam, Tbk (2017 – 2018), Chief Executive Officer of PT Pelindo 3 (Persero) (2014 – 2016), Managing Director Investement Banking of Daiwa Capital Markets Singapore Ltd (2010 – 2014), Earlier of his various corporate carrier he worked for several investment company included PT Reliance Securities,Tbk, PT Danareksa Sekuritas and PT Bahana Artha Ventura.

Currently he also active in the social activity by establishing a Sumur Delapan Tiga Foundation in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara.

He graduated from the Faculty of Law, University of Tujuh Belas Agustus Semarang. Subsequently, he earned a Masters in Management degree at the Indonesian Institute of Business and Informatics and earned a Doctorate in Law from Padjadjaran University, Bandung.

He had a career at the Indonesian Attorney General's Office for 35 years (1981-2016) as a prosecutor, at least 20 times moving positions including the Maros District Attorney's Office (1997), Central Jakarta District Attorney's Office (2000), West Sumatra Deputy Attorney Office (2004), High Court South Kalimantan (2005), Director of General Crimes (2006), East Kalimantan Attorney General's Office (2006), Pegasum/Was Inspector (2008), DKI Jakarta High Court (2008), Ses JAM Pidsus (2009), JAM Pidsus (2011), Deputy Attorney General of the Republic of Indonesia (2013), PLT. Attorney General of the Republic of Indonesia (2014).

He has also received awards from the President of the Republic of Indonesia, namely: Satya Lencana Karya Satya X Tahun (1991), XX Tahun (2001), XXX Tahun (2011) dan Bintang Jasa Utama (2019)

After retiring from the Attorney General's Office of the Republic of Indonesia, he is currently active in several activities including Lecturer in the Masters & Doctoral Program in Law UNTAG Semarang (2015-present), Chairman of the PPSN Supervisory Board/National Strategy Study Center (2016-present), Chief Expert Staff SKK Migas (2020-present), UNTAG Semarang Alumni Advisory Board (2021-present), Adhyaksa KBPA (2021-present).
