PT Raharja Energi Cepu Tbk (REC) is a Subsidiary of Rukun Raharja focused on strategic investments in the upstream oil and gas sector. Established in 2006 and officially acquired by Rukun Raharja in 2018, REC has transformed from a consultancy firm into a resilient and progressive energy investment company. Strengthening its role within the national energy industry, REC marked a new milestone in 2025 by listing its shares on the Indonesia Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol RATU. This achievement underscores REC’s new era of expanding its investment reach and reinforcing its contribution to national energy security.
In the medium to long term, REC aims to transition from being solely a Participating Interest (PI) holder to becoming an independent operator in the upstream oil and gas sector. This ambition is supported by a solid financial foundation, the expertise of a highly capable professional team, and synergies with strategic partners. With a progressive investment strategy and a firm commitment to exploring new reserves, REC is optimistic about playing a pivotal role in addressing national energy security challenges while driving Indonesia’s economic growth.
Currently, REC holds a 49% stake in PT Petrogas Jatim Utama Cendana (PJUC), which owns a participating interest in the Cepu Block, one of Indonesia’s largest oil and gas blocks. The block contributes around 25% of total national oil and gas production and is home to the strategic Banyu Urip Infill Clastic (BUIC) project. BUIC is expected to add 42.92 million barrels of oil reserves through seven new wells, projected to deliver an additional 20,000-30,000 BOPD. The Banyu Urip field itself records an average production of 144,000 BOPD, making it the country’s second-largest oil field, with 2P (proven and probable) reserves of 405 million barrels. In addition, through its subsidiary PT Raharja Energi Tanjung Jabung (RETJ), REC holds a PI in the Jabung Block, Jambi, which records average production of 52,000 BOEPD and has 2P reserves of 292 million BOE.
Through its active participation in these two strategic blocks, REC plays a vital role in Indonesia’s energy supply chain. This involvement not only strengthens Rukun Raharja’s oil and gas portfolio but also enhances opportunities to contribute to achieving the national production targets of 1 million BOPD and 12 BSCFD of gas by 2030.
