RAJA'S SUBSIDIARIES STARTED A FEASIBILITY STUDY OF BIOGAS IN THE CITY OF BANDUNG

Jakarta, 4 September 2023 - A leading oil and gas company, PT Rukun Raharja, Tbk (IDX: RAJA) through its subsidiary, PT Energasindo Heksa Karya (EHK) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with PT Moriuchi Indonesia (MI) regarding the feasibility study of biogas. EHK cooperates with MI because MI is a potential customer in using Biogas, therefore this feasibility study will be carried out in the city of Bandung where MI's main factory is located. Several potential areas near the MI factory are ideal for the construction of a biogas plant, because one of the important factors in the use of biogas in industry is the distance from the biogas installation to the customer's location. This feasibility study will begin in October 2023 and it is expected that the results will be completed in semester 2 of 2024, so that by 2025 the construction of this biogas plant can be carried out and operational.

Agustinus Hendrayana as the Main Director of EHK said "The parties will conduct a feasibility study for biogas production by utilizing methane gas originating from organic waste such as livestock manure on farms, POME (palm oil mill waste water), factory wastewater, municipal solid waste from TPA etc. This study also covers the delivery of biogas by truck from a potential biogas source to the Bandung MI factory for use as boiler fuel instead of compressed natural gas (CNG). The implementation of this feasibility study is a quite important milestone for EHK and RAJA Group in their efforts to step into the new renewable energy sector”

In carrying out this feasibility study, EHK has prepared all the necessary infrastructure. This feasibility study will later receive the full support of MI which has previously undertaken steps to reduce CO2 emissions and is actively promoting measures to combat global warming. EHK also hopes that with this step EHK can generate carbon credits in the future and contribute to the realization of a carbon neutral society, which is the goal of the Indonesian government.
